Employee Benefit Plans

Challenges facing the federal social security system make the viability and sustainability of public and private company retirement plans crucial to future retirements. Our experience working within the private sector and with local governments in the audit of their benefit plans dates back to the mid-1970’s. Over the years, we have developed working knowledge of IRS and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) rules and regulations as well as auditing and accounting standards pertaining to employee benefit plans from defined contribution to defined benefit to health and welfare plans issued by the AICPA, FASB and GASB.

Our experience includes performing both full and limited scope audits. Additionally, as a Registered Accounting Firm with the PCAOB, we provide audit services for those public companies whose defined contribution plans must file a Form 11-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

For those plans needing assistance in filing Form 5500, we also provide services for the timely compliance with this reporting requirement.

Our firm is a member of the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center, further demonstrating our commitment to provide quality service to our employee benefit plan clients.

Our firm has vast experience with employee benefit plan audits including:

  • Defined Benefit Pension Plans
  • Health and Welfare Plans
Defined contribution 401(k) plans, 403(b) plans, and profit sharing plans subject to ERISA under the regulatory authority of the U.S. Department of Labor
  • We conduct both full-scope and limited-scope audits
  • Preparing IRS Form 5500 and summary annual reports
  • SOC1, SOC2 and SOC3 service organization audit engagements
