Gregory (Greg) Ellison, CPA is the Resident Partner in-charge of the Atlanta office of the firm. Greg started his career in public accounting with the international accounting firm, KPMG Peat Marwick in 1973. In 1977, he joined Banks, Finley, White & Co., as a Manager and was admitted to the partnership in 1979. He has in excess of 40 years of experience in public accounting. Greg has extensive experience in providing services in the areas of state and local governments, not-for-profits, employee benefit plans and colleges and universities.
In 1984, Greg was appointed by Governor Joe Frank Harris to the Georgia State Board of Accountancy. Over the next nine years, he served on several committees of the Board and served as both Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Board. His most significant contribution to the Board was chairing the Report Monitoring Committee. This committee developed legislation and implemented the state’s first quality review program for CPA firms. This program was designed to monitor the quality of work performed by firms registered to practice in the state of Georgia. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA).
